Hey Joy, what are your superpowers in the Appart Family?

I mainly stay busy doing acquisition and writing quotations. I am particularly good at listening to the customer and because of this I’m excellent at putting words into writing.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love spending time with friends and family. Me and my friends like to go out. I also spend all year organising Sjtatie Festatie. In the evenings I like to watch a mafia series.

What's something we can wake you up for?

For anything actually… If something’s wrong or if someone made pancakes, I’ll get up without a struggle.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

It changed over and over… The only thing I remember is wanting to become a high school teacher. Standing in front of a class everyday, it seemed like fun back then! I’m glad I didn’t pursue it now.

Who have inspired you?

There are a few. Firstly my grandma, because she once left her whole family in Indonesia for her great love, my grandpa. Then Stephen Covey, a writer who writes very positively about management. Finally Warren Buffet, the man who eats breakfast every day at McDonalds. He belongs to one of the five most rich people of the world and that while he has never used a computer or anything online whatsoever.

What is your best memory of Appart Media?

A long time ago when Appart just existed and I was not working there yet, I co-operated with the team at an event Muscles for Muscles. We had to make an awesome promotional video in which money of the charity got stolen by a thief. Two freerunners dressed as superheroes would run after him and jump over fences and buildings in Reuver. Suddenly we were told that the freerunners couldn’t come anymore. Then somebody came with the idea to use me and two colleagues as the superheroes and thief. So we attempted to ‘freerun’ ourselves, although it became more like crazy moving. All colleagues couldn’t stop laughing. I think the video can even be found on YouTube…

What do you think defines Appart Media?

A company in which everyone communicates really well. You just walk into the door of another department. When there’s an emergency case, we can arrange it very quickly.
